What You'll Do
Epic Games, Inc. seeks a Lead Rendering Programmer in San Diego, CA to lead a graphics programming team.
In this role, you will
- Enhance and maintain the rendering capabilities of Unreal Engine 5 with a focus on real-time ray tracing techniques.
- Optimize performance of features on multiple platforms (especially consoles) and across games and enterprise applications.
- Answer technical questions from licensees to include writing technical documentation and delivering presentations, internal design discussions, and teaching content teams how to use code features.
- Identify technical and developmental risks and obstacles and planning, generating and implementing solutions.
- Keep up to date on current techniques, research, graphics data, hardware.
What we’re looking for
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, plus 4 years of experience in related occupations.
- Requires four 4 years of experience in the following:
- Developing game engine technology using C++;
- Graphics APIs;
- Shader languages including DirectX/HLSL;
- Low level graphics APIs including DirectX 11/12, Vulkan, and console APIs;
- 3D rendering algorithms and data structures; multithreaded systems;
- Optimizing system performance.
