The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As an Advanced Packaging Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Researching and selecting the most appropriate and efficient product packaging solutions for new product launches
• Modifying and improving existing packaging designs, processes and/or methods for improved customer satisfaction, quality improvement, sustainability and/or operational improvements
• Following prescribed federal and international regulatory requirements related to sterile barrier packaging
• Provide corporate packaging solutions representation on task forces and long-term development teams for next generation products and packages
• Assists division engineering and other clients in the selection, qualification, and installation of package equipment
• Evaluate suppliers of packaging materials and/or contract packagers to train, guide, and improve the manufacturability of package designs in accordance with specifications and processes.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
• 3 years relevant working experience.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Thorough knowledge of theories and practices, typically applied to one or more disciplines within Package Engineering organizational areas such Client Services, Continuous Improvement, Systems, Quality, Regulatory Affairs Management Center (RAMC), Graphics Design, etc.
• Working knowledge of ISO 11607, ISO 13485, and cGMP
• Understanding of package validation and distribution testing procedures
• Thorough knowledge of assigned area of responsibility, general 3M structure, organization, and business
• Generally, requires the ability to communicate in written and spoken English.
