Position: Software Engineer III

Job Location: 640 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086

Duties: Code in Java, JavaScript, Bash, and Ruby for the design and maintenance of applications. Design User Interface (UI) using React.js, Vue.js, HTML, and CSS for web applications. Deploy code using Jars and Scripts on different cloud providers such as Azure and GCP. Create and customize system interactive dashboards using Grafana. Provide search solutions like Solr and Elasticsearch for fast search. Troubleshoot CPU spikes, out of memory, latency, and high disk issues for applications. Set up the environment for development, testing, and production. Create system monitoring alerts using required tools. Troubleshoot and fix Linux performance tuning problems. Debug distributed systems by obtaining and analyzing performance statistics. Utilize bash commands for understanding and fixing latency issues while querying and updating search solutions. Back up and migrate the data efficiently without loss of any data for databases. Capture heap dumps, thread dumps, and resource utilization for detailed analysis of system bottlenecks. Use principles of software engineering, data-structures, and flowcharts to design applications. Improve existing software to increase performance, security, and accessibility. Secure Solr, Zookeeper, Elasticsearch, and OpenSearch by making use of JWT, LDAP, and TLS Encryption. Tune Garbage-Collector parameters according to the machine and type of load expected. Migrate clusters from public to private regions. Ensure large web-scale clusters remain highly available and failure proof.

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or a related field. Position does not require specific years of experience but requires listed skills.

Skills required: Experience coding using object oriented programming languages Java and Ruby. Experience designing User Interface (UI) using latest UI technologies. Experience with code and system integration and deployment. Experience designing interactive dashboards to visualize system metrics. Experience in Search technologies including Elasticsearch and Solr. Experience troubleshooting hardware related issues. Experience with environment setup and management for test and production. Experience developing secure systems using web tokens, security protocols, and data encryption. Experience querying metrics and creating alerts and notifications. Experience diagnosing and resolving Linux related performance issues. Experience using bash commands effectively. Experience with data backup and migration to manage data storage systems. Experience capturing and analyzing system resources utilization. Experience using software engineering principles and data-structures. Experience documenting and demonstrating solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, charts, code comments, and clear code. Experience streamlining and scaling software by enhancing performance and adding new features. Employer will accept any amount of professional experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $184,662/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
