What You Will Do :

The Cloud Solutions Engineer will be part of the Cloud practice at Guidehouse Digital Solutions. You will bring demonstrated experience with solutions engineering to support cloud adoption, technology modernization, systems integration and DevSecOps using AWS or Azure or Google cloud platforms. The Engineer will support design, develop, and deploy digital solutions across hybrid and multi-cloud platforms and perform applications migration and modernization into cloud.

• Work closely with clients, digital leaders, solutions architects, and technical/functional leads across digital teams and market segments to support client projects and provide solutions for growth efforts and capabilities build out.

• Support cloud assessments, migration planning, developing architecture and build turnkey platforms and, reusable solutions for cloud initiatives.

• Solutions architecture and engineering for scalable and secure distributed systems/solutions using modern technologies and frameworks, Cloud Native services, microservices architecture, containerization, and API-First design patterns.

• Solutions architecture and engineering using AWS/Azure/Google cloud platforms for large-scale cloud implementations involving VPCs, Virtual Networks, applications, databases, security, disaster recovery and failover services using automation.

• Perform repeatable cloud migrations including rehost (lift & shift), re-platform and re-architect/re-factor of on-premises systems/applications and datasets into a mix of multi and hybrid cloud architectures and platforms.

• Serve as a key member of the cloud team to support technical challenges/ demos/ prototypes for innovation using cloud architectures and software technologies.

• Deploy and manage cloud storage and backups for variety of storage, database, analytics and data services.

• Design and build DevSecOps solutions using tools like Docker, Terraform, Jenkins, GitOps and Kubernetes/OpenShift

• Automate various tasks for CI/CD, cloud management, provisioning, decommissioning, securing and optimizing applications and infrastructure in cloud.

What You Will Need:

• U.S. Citizen is required for the position and must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance at a minimum.

• Bachelor’s degree is required

• Minimum FIVE (5) years of IT experience with enterprise technologies and systems engineering (platforms/infrastructure) for government or commercial clients using cloud native, open-source and modern software technologies and frameworks.

• Minimum THREE (3) years of experience with building cloud solutions to migrate / modernize applications and datasets into AWS or Azure or GCP cloud platforms.

• Experience with DevSecOps CICD pipelines using cloud native services or opensource toolchain and containerizing application modules/microservices.

• Deploying containerized modules into Kubernetes platforms such as AWS EKS or Azure AKS or Google GKE.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to handle customer requirements and engineer solutions.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or IT or Engineering or related disciplines

• Exposure to hybrid or multi-cloud architectures and systems integrations using cloud native services

• Solutions architecture, development of white papers, proposals (for RFI/RFPs) and presentations/demos is highly desired

• Any one of the cloud certifications (Associate /Professional level) such as AWS Solution Architect / SysOps / DevOps Engineer or Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud The annual salary range for this position is $125,600.00-$188,400.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
