  • Assures a safe and orderly work environment. Establishes and implements housekeeping policies and procedures. Works with EHS personnel to establish and implement safety policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the overall management, direction and coordination of plant operations, including production, engineering, and maintenance. Communicates and executes Company production and maintenance objectives, both functional and financial.
  • Responsible for continuously improving cost and productivity in production and maintenance.
  • Responsible for implementing improvement engineering projects at site.
  • Responsible for executing the production plan delivered by Supply Chain.
  • Responsible for developing the maintenance strategy and plan, as well as executing all maintenance activities on equipment and facilities.
  • Responsible for motivating, training and developing team members to achieve maximum productivity levels and maintain a clean safe work environment.
  • Implement and manage Kanban Processes in Production (Pull Processes).
  • Implement and execute lean tools at site: Visual Management, Kanban Processes, 5S.
  • Support the development of the manufacturing site strategy in the long term.
  • Develop the production, maintenance, and engineering budget. Annual Plan and Long Term Plan.
  • Responsible for hiring, dismissal, and disciplinary action of employees reporting to this position. Includes employee performance evaluations, training, and problem resolution. Promotes employee development to supervisory and/or leadership positions when available.
  • Determine plant policies consistent with Company policies, directs and supervises the application of such policies to the plantโ€™s manufacturing operations.
  • Oversees the execution of the production/maintenance schedule by the Working Supervisor(s). Facilitates cross-functional problem solving regarding the schedule execution.
  • Evaluates initiates, recommends and implements process improvements to increase production and maintenance efficiencies.
  • Limited travel - 0-10%.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BS โ€“ Engineering Mechanical or similar
  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing or similar.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) Preferable
  • 5-7 years of manufacturing experience, with three years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Ability to provide leadership in directing and managing a diverse work group to achieve site goals.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited guidance exists.
  • Ability to interpret and develop a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.
  • PC literate, basic skills in Word, advanced Excel, and Power Point
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing process functionalities and their interdependencies. Includes safety issues and risk aversion.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to both management and subordinates and work effectively with cross functional teams and departments.
