Backend Developer Team Lead

How you will make a difference

● Establish high quality standards in terms of technical knowledge, organization, and management in the team

● Contribute to the development of team members, providing support/advice and training them in time management and prioritization.

● Encourage and promote research and innovation of new opportunities within projects and processes to keep us competitive.

● Advance in improving code quality.

● Maintain a cohesive, motivated team with a professional vision.

● Participate in the selection processes for developers/team leads/architects.

● Coordinate with other project team leads and technical leads.

Team Management and Leadership

● Be the point of reference for backend developers.

● Plan 'One to One' personal meetings for proper follow-up.

● Plan, organize, and lead team meetings and ensure that actions are taken based on team discussions. Provide opportunities for collaboration and expression.

● Plan the team's global objectives.

● Manage team vacations and other absences.

Team Development

● Identify specific training needs for team members and manage them (internal, external, or cross-training with other teams).

● Establish individualized goals to work on individual career plans.

● Prepare the annual performance evaluation and conduct meetings with each team member.

● Identify team growth needs and plan for new additions.

● Support and organize the onboarding process for new hires according to company guidelines.

Technical/Business Knowledge

● Organization, prioritization, and task definition.

● Review of work and quality control.

● Coordination of tasks, priorities, and backlog to ensure project deadlines and expectations are met: from design to production deployment.

● Support and involvement in strategic project decisions and other departments: guide, align, and propose improvement actions.

● Assist in implementing processes and propose appropriate tools for each task.

● Provide guidance to the development department on code improvements and quality.

● Code pieces programming and technical task resolution.

Requirements

What will make you stand out from the crowd

• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Valuable previous experience managing development teams
• Excellent communication skills
• Previous experience in mentoring, coaching and/or leading a development team.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams
• Have more than 5 years of experience as a Frontend developer
• Experience working on developing modern and intuitive interfaces
• Ensuring code quality and application optimization.
• Review and provide feedback on code.
• Advanced skills in JavaScript, the primary language used in front-end development.
• Know how to design and develop web applications with Javascript, Typescript and React.
• Familiarity and experience with automated testing platforms and unit tests.
• Have experience working in agile and dynamic environments
• Knowledge of semantic HTML and applied to SEO optimization
• Experience with BEM, SASS and/or Styled Components methodology

Desirable qualifications

• Knowledge of build tools and automation ( Webpack, Babel, RollUp).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS…).
• Familiarity with CMS or Headless CMS (Strapi, WP…)
