Associate Manager , Equities Trading, Markets

Role Profile

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Equities Trading Business Management, Markets team.

The Equities Trading team is responsible for the provision of safe and efficient electronic platforms for secondary markets trading, connecting investors with unrivalled access to UK, European and global investment opportunities. With a single membership agreement and connection, our members can access both London Stock Exchange and Turquoise, to grow their businesses and simplify cross-border trading.

The Business Management team are responsible for the governance and operational management of the Equities Trading Business unit including supporting business performance (financial, operational, risk and resiliency, members and clients) and ensuring successful implementation of divisions initiatives.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Responsible for the harmonisation and development for the timely delivery of Turquoise Group entities capital requirement reporting documents, such as Recovery plans, Resolution packs and Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICARA/ICLAAP), working closely with Turquoise Management, Rules & Compliance, Finance and Risk teams
  • Maintenance of Pillar 3 documentation of Turquoise
  • Ensure standardisation and best practices are embedded into the risk management processes of the Equities Trading Business Unit
  • Manages the regular review and updating of relevant Business Continuity Plans and Business Impact Analysis
  • Provides general support for Compliance, Risk and Audit requirements
  • Looking at efficiencies regarding the Purchase Order (PO) process on behalf of the Equities Trading team and coordinate with Procurement team and Accounts Payable team to progress the payment of invoices against the relevant PO’s in a timely and structured manner and documents this in a up-to-date tracker
  • Support in the administration and implementation of pricing schemes across Turquoise and LSE (onboarding customers, report generation, related queries from internal and external stakeholders etc.)

Key behaviours and skills required to be successful in the role:

Prior working experience or knowledge:

  • Minimum of 3 years with relevant experience/knowledge/ interest in Investment Banking or Financial Services, with focus on Prudential Regime, e.g. CRD/CRR, IFR/IFD, UK IFPR, BRRD, etc.
  • Has experience in the compilation of Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) production, and/or Recovery and Resolution planning
  • Previous project management experience as role involves good planning and organisational skills
  • Experience in Equities Trading asset classes useful but not essential although candidate will show a willingness to learn

Communication:

  • Projects personal credibility and expertise, with the ability to demonstrate knowledge of the financial services industry
  • Excellent command in English, both written and oral
  • Maintains regular colleague contact to keep them informed on progress, issues and timetables, considers stated requisites and anticipates requirements
  • Always follows up and delivers on action points agreed with colleagues

Delivery:

  • Ability to analyse and interpret relevant regulations, with assistance from Compliance and Legal where necessary, and understanding the impact that regulations and capital requirements have on the business, especially as new regulations are implemented and as business evolves
  • Demonstrating the drive and energy to achieve our goals
  • Ability to manage time and priorities tasks accordingly
  • Has a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Carries out work in a proactive manner

Candidate Profile / Key Skills:

  • Degree or equivalent in Economic, Finance, Risk, Project Management or other related fields
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft applications and Metricstream desirable
