Systems Operations Analyst

This role exists as part of Nasdaq Trade Surveillance Operations Team, to join the Bangalore Technology center. SMARTS Trade Surveillance is a web browser based SAAS application. Our client base is global and operating in 142+ Stock Exchanges, primarily focused on broker trade compliance. You will be part of global team working closely with teams from Sydney, London, and Toronto.

With this position we offer

Your responsibilities are to ensure that operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to SMARTS Trade Surveillance requirements. You will also perform light programming such as scripting for reporting, troubleshooting, automated tasks, and other internal tools.
You will assist with projects to enhance solutions around technical issues, providing a good insight in the current infrastructure, future initiations, and planning phases around the project. These activities include a full understanding of the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project lifecycle; technical analysis and design; and support.

You will perform both a BAU and deployment work stream. BAU is primarily based around ensuring the correct and timely provisioning of trade and analysis information to our customers; deployment work will entail the installation or upgrade of software across our server environment.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

Linux System administration tasks and Linux based troubleshooting.

L2/L3 technical support. Troubleshooting and RCA of ALL processing issues.

Proactively supervise and resolves the production environment issues with the use of Zabbix as a monitoring tool.

Perform BAU activities Which includes:

• System supervising to ensure availability of all services, server resources.
• Log supervising to review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs.

Resolution of Incidents and Service Requests following SLAs and ITIL Incident Management Processes!

Performing Application Deployments using puppet, Gitlab and bit bucket as per Change Management Processes.

Develop and integrate process automation tools using Bash/Python

Handling AWS Cloud infrastructure with Terraform, GitHub and Splunk as a monitoring tool!

Work will be Rotational shift-based to support European and North American business hours.

Weekdays: Early 7:30 AM |General 10:30 AM |Late 3:00 PM Once in 6 Weeks

Weekends: Minor Critical Deployment Support | Rotational On-Call once in 8 Weeks.

Timings are indicative only and should be flexible to accommodate as per changing business needs.

We expect you to have:

Good background in Linux/Unix Environment. 3-5 Years.

Exposure to supervising tools: Zabbix, Grafana etc. 3- 4 Years.

Exposure to Configuration management tools including Puppet, Ansible. 2 -3 Years.

Strong scripting knowledge in Bash, Python.

Exposure to Jira, GIT/Bitbucket tool. 2-3 years.

Exposure to AWS cloud technologies. 2 Years

Good understanding of ITIL methodologies.

It would be great if you have

• Exposure to Terraform. Intermediate.
• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, EKS
• Networking protocols such as TCP/IP networking and routing.
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• At least 4 years of experience in an equivalent discipline.

You should have a passion for IT and Devops technical related subjects and use initiative and lateral thinking to solve problems, keeping technical and commercial constraints in balance.
