About The Role

We are looking for a Data Engineer Manager for a multidisciplinary Tech Team (Data Engineers). 🚀🪴

What You’ll Be Doing

Working as a Data Engineer Manager you will be responsible for…

• Using technical experience to work across multiple systems, as well as great communication skills
• Representing your own team externally, coordinating with other teams and stakeholders. Collaborating closely with the product manager
• Ensuring the product team is focused and delivering incremental value, by managing priorities and controlling WIP
• Managing engineers across a team, guiding and supporting their growth
• Ensuring the right technical skills and capacity in the team to tackle any challenges the business is solving

The role is based in Madrid, Spain or London, UK 🌍

Requirements

What You’ll Need

• Exceptional technical abilities and experience with the architectural design of large-scale applications and microservice approaches.
• Familiar with Clean Code, SOLID, and DRY principles
• Experience with the complexities and nuances of distributed systems.
• Experienced professional with a track record delivering complex projects in fast-changing companies. We’re looking for someone with 5+ years of engineering work experience.
• 2+ years of experience managing a team
• Strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, negotiation skills impact and influence
• Open to try new technologies and programming languages
• Self-starter who will thrive in a start-up setting by taking ownership and initiative
• Decisive and action-oriented who can get things done, make rapid decisions even when they are short of information, and someone who has high energy and stamina
• Highly motivated, independent and deeply passionate about sustainability and impact
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills (minimum C1 level-proficient user)

Nice To Have

• Experience in a start-up
• Experience as a Data Engineer or leading teams of Data Engineers
• Knowledge of several of our tech stacks is a Plus
• Knowledge of distributed systems, cloud architectures and Event Driven Architecture or equivalent
