We're seeking a Digital Marketing Assistant to join GVI Foundation for a dynamic 3-5 month role.

The GVI Foundation is a nonprofit organisation that raises and manages funds for grassroots social and environmental projects around the world. Through our global reach we fund locally-led projects, which are closely vetted to ensure maximum impact for donor contributions.

🎓 About the role

Are you a GVI Alumni passionate about our mission, and wanting to kick off a career in digital marketing within the for-good sector? Join us in a new, exciting opportunity and be rewarded with a fully funded GVI 3-month program!

As a key player in our marketing efforts under the guidance of the Digital Project Manager, you'll play a vital role in supporting the marketing and communication efforts of the GVI Foundation.

We're looking for someone with digital marketing skills and experience, ideally skilled in social media management, content creation, and website content management, with a knack for creative writing and a passion for innovation to be a part of our mission-driven team and bring your fresh ideas to life!

💻Role and responsibilities

  • Website Development and Maintenance
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of the Foundation's website.
    • Update website content, including fundraising campaigns, progress reports and blog articles.
    • Implement design changes, layout updates, and new features to enhance website usability.
    • Collaborate with GVI Field Staff to integrate relevant campaigns on the site.
    • Create training presentations and support the upskilling of GVI Field Staff to engage in their own campaign management.
  • Content Creation
    • Produce high-quality content for the Foundation's website, and GVI’s blog, newsletters, and social media channels.
    • Write compelling copy for fundraising campaigns and promotional materials to raise awareness of the different Foundation’s projects.
    • Conduct interviews with GVI Field Staff and Partners, research, and gather information to create impactful stories and case studies.
    • Ensure all content adheres to the Foundation's brand guidelines and messaging strategies.
  • Campaign Promotion
    • Work with GVI Field staff to plan the successful implementation of their fundraising campaigns.
    • Identify opportunities to promote the Foundation’s work through GVI’s participant journey.
    • Update the Foundation’s content for crowdfunding and charity evaluation and rating platforms.
    • Track and report on fundraising campaign metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Social Media Management
    • Develop and execute social media campaigns to promote the Foundation's mission and focus areas.
    • Support GVI Field staff to create engaging content for hub social media platforms, including posts, stories, and graphics.
    • Collaborate with Marketing to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
    • With support from Marketing, analyse social media metrics and provide insights to optimise fundraising campaign performance.
  • Donor Management and Email Marketing
    • Collaborate with Marketing to manage the Foundation’s email marketing campaigns, including hub campaign progress updates and appeals.

    • Manage the Foundation’s inbox community@gvi.org

    • Monitor email open rates, and click-through rates to optimise campaign effectiveness.

    • Support the implementation of automated email workflows to thank donors or provide donation receipts, and set up drip campaigns via Raisely.

✅Professional skills and experience

  • Driven, self-motivated, happy to upskill within digital marketing and adept at problem-solving

  • Proficient or happy to upskill in navigating website builder platforms

  • Digital marketing experience in social media and newsletters

  • Excellent writing skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to create visually appealing images and designs

  • Enjoyment in collaborating across teams

  • Creative thinker with a knack for innovative ideas
