Security Analyst

About The Role:

As a Cloud Security Analyst, you will be an essential part of Paytient’s security efforts and will share in the responsibility of safeguarding our cloud and application environments. You’ll be implementing control plans, configuring and improving our monitoring tools, handling detections and alerts, and working collaboratively with multiple product verticals to identify and recommend solutions for visibility gaps. Our “remote with roots” model allows us to work where we thrive and gather as needed, often in our home office in Columbia, Missouri. This role can be performed from anywhere in the continental U.S., with the exception of Montana.

What You'll Do:

• Configure and monitor security detections and alerts, including tuning for false positive / false negative reduction
• Investigate security incidents in conjunction with team, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions
• Implement control plans in AWS and GCP and advise on potential improvements
• Participate in on-call and security support responsibilities
• Collaborate with IT and development teams to address security issues and implement best practices
• Develop and maintain security documentation
• Stay updated on the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and technologies to ensure robust protection against evolving threats

What You'll Bring:

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud, including their security features
• Ability to write simple automations, ideally in Python or Java
• Basic understanding of cloud and application security principles
• Basic knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and security technologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new security challenges and technologies
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified Security, or equivalent are a plus
• 1-3 years of experience in a cloud- or application-security focused analyst role is a plus
