Our company is an international private banking firm part of Grupo Santander, located in Geneva with an office in Zurich and branches located in Nassau (Bahamas) and Dubai. With around 300 employees the company has its own IT department working very close with the business in the continuous required digital transformation to excel the services to our clients, target of our activity.

The Geneva office has become a technological hub for other Santander entities, providing critical business services through the different applications used by the business.

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Team Leader to manage our Business Application Management Team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing teams oriented to service, a deep understanding of enterprise applications, and the ability to resolve complex technical and functional issues.

This position is crucial for ensuring the high availability, performance, and stability of our critical applications. The candidate will report directly to the Head of Technology and will be responsible for all the entire area framework: policies, procedures, governance, budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises application systems staff including their selection, training and development, performance evaluation, objectives assignment and other human resources related topics. Build “on-call” critical applications maintenance ensuring the proper backup organization within the staff.
  • Creates and maintains program plans for the development of the new area, including governance, list of tasks, dependencies, milestones, and baselines. Communicates in a timely and effective manner to core and extended team members and management, including status reports, meeting minutes, action items, risks, and status vs. plan assessments.
  • Review and maintain the inventory of applications and related documentation building a knowledge database accordingly: configuration & setup, functional scope, user guide’s, how-to’s, key indicators, procedures, and controls.
  • Evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of existing “run the bank” business processes working collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels to find innovative and operationally beneficial solutions using, when viable, our internal low-code BPM tool (Appian).
  • Provide Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Production Support for application issues liaising with technical experts when required. Managing ITSM ticketing system ensuring resolutions, troubleshooting guide’s, actions plans are kept up to date.
  • Leads regular cross-functional program team meetings. Coordinates and facilitates planning, change, applications maintenance knowledge transfer and key team activities ensuring strategic objectives are met.
  • Monitor everyday IT operations by creating the required dashboards and detailed reporting. Identifying the required information from the different systems.
  • Develop strategies to improve customer support experiences and build strong client relationships.
  • Maintain a customer-centric approach, always prioritizing the needs and expectations of our clients.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level with experience of working in a large, international IT organization.
  • More than 5 years’ experience in Staff management, ideally running a department of 8 or more individuals.
  • Fluent in at least two of the following languages: English, French, Spanish. The third one it’s a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking and modeling skills.
  • Knowledge of private banking business is a plus.
  • Facilitates the development of other’s knowledge, abilities, and skills to fulfill job and role responsibilities more effectively.
  • Embraces organizational changes and their rationale, models behavior needed during improvements in organization’s effectiveness.
  • Blends people into cohesive teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals.
  • Supports, promotes, and ensures alignment with the organization’s vision, mission, and values; holds big picture view while setting priorities.
