AstraZeneca Oncology is driven by the vision that for a patient with cancer, every day matters. We aspire to redefine the cancer-treatment paradigm and have a broad pipeline of next-generation medicines that are focused principally on lung, prostate, ovarian and haematological cancers.

We currently have a position available for an Oncology Business Manager in our team looking after the Lung Portfolio. The role is based in South Australia to manage SA and NT (Darwin).

Reporting to the National Sales Manager there are a number of key focuses in this role that coincide with the broader Oncology franchise and strategy, as we continue to evolve in line with customer and patient needs. You will be joining an exceptionally cohesive and supportive team which has delivered outstanding sales results, where exceeding expectations is expected, and challenging the traditional way of interacting with our customers is the norm.

What you’ll do

You will be fully empowered and have complete responsibility for building and owning Account Plans in collaboration with the cross functional team, to exceed customer expectations and generate outstanding sales results. You will also embrace our digital tools to create excellent customer engagement.

Essential for the role

  • Tertiary qualification, preferably in life sciences, medical or pharmacy
  • Experience selling to hospital specialists and knowledge of lung health and/or Oncology markets in SA, preferably lung
  • Established network with broad base of external customers across SA hospitals, including prescribers, relevant non-prescribing specialists, nurses and payors
  • Demonstrated ability to forge positive and enduring relationships, where you are seen as the preferred industry partner of choice by external customers’
  • Ability to think strategically, be entrepreneurial and foster a growth mindset
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills and demonstrated project/team/cross-functional leadership skills
  • Ability to quickly assimilate data and insights to build and implement strong key account plans; including to turn around and optimise, and focus for additional growth
  • Experience discussing scientific data with ability to influence through superior selling skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills and ability to self-manage
