What We Do

Carries out and develops procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements in an applications development environment. Evaluates and tests new or modified software programs and software development procedures to ensure that programs developed throughout the company function according to user requirements and conform to established guidelines. Support responsibilities will include the development and execution of test scripts for new and/or modified software applications and software development procedures and standards.

HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE

  • Thoroughly tests software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.
  • Reports progress on problem resolution to management.
  • Devises improvements to current procedures and develops models of possible future configurations.
  • Performs work flow analysis and recommends quality improvements.
  • Writes, revises and verifies the quality standards and test procedures for program design and product evaluation.
  • Reviews new or modified programs, including documentation, diagram, and flow chart, to determine if the program (a) performs according to the user request; and (b) conforms to guidelines.
  • Sets up tests at the request of users to locate and correct program operating errors following the installation of programs.
  • Assists programmers and business units in developing application test plans and verifies that applications and programs have been tested according to plan.
  • Assists business unit in verifying that applications provide the agreed upon functionality.
  • Writes documentation to describe program evaluation, testing, and correction.
  • Required to perform duties outside of normal work hours based on business needs.
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Required Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure

  • Generally requires BS Degree in an IT or business field or equivalent work experience

  • Typically has 2-5 years of directly related experience.

Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used

  • Experience with running and developing automated test scripts using 3rd party testing tools.
  • Strong proficiency with PC Windows and mainframe CICS user environments.
  • Working Knowledge of information technology concepts and applications.
  • Working Knowledge of quality assurance and acceptance testing methodologies and/or training.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
  • Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Maintain the perspective of the end-user to ensure that the software will function optimally in the business process environment.
  • Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be anticipatory of customer needs, market conditions, and changes in the business climate.
  • Apply strong knowledge of testing methodologies such as black box, white box, smoke, and unit testing.
  • Measure the test effectiveness utilizing metrics, monitor the progress, and report the results of both automated and manual test efforts by fostering transparency and accountability.
  • Expertise on company specific and functional area business processes.
  • Capacity to learn new skills quickly and adopt effective testing methodologies to improve the software testing process.

Salary Range: $62,568.00-$86,900.00

This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location
