Head of Collections

The Role

This is a hybrid role based in our Cardiff office. Your responsibilities would include:

• Lead, motivate and manage the Global Collections (about 40 people)
• Implement tailored collections strategies and policies aligned to business objectives
• Leverage data to solve complex problems and influence the senior leadership team
• Develop the collections and specialist support strategies in partnership with the Collections Senior Manager and the Operations Director
• Provide direction, operational management and continual development for the Collections whilst also managing performance of our external servicing partners.
• Collaborate with other operational areas and the wider business to deliver a best-in-class end to end service
• Be a role model across the Cardiff office, as one of the senior leaders on site.

About you

• Experience:
  • Worked within a complex and regulated compliance framework
  • Built or managed relationships with 3rd Party DCAs, Outsourcers and Debt Purchasers
  • Led Collections strategies with a track record of strong results
  • Balanced commercial, regulatory and team needs to deliver an integrated strategy
  • Experience of leading, motivating and engaging teams to deliver effective Collections strategies
• Skills and capabilities:
  • Robust analytical skills and judgement
  • Strong communicator and negotiator with positive influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to tell a story combining data, intuition and anecdotal feedback
  • Able to work flexibly and effectively in a fast paced, pressurised environment and encourage others to follow lead
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with challenging deadlines
  • Foster a customer-centric culture
