Purpose of Role

As part of the Commercial Finance organization, the BFC Team Manager’s role is to provide operational and talent leadership to the BFC teams, ensuring that BFC resources are managed and deployed to produce high-quality delivery of all agreed products and services to finance colleagues across Europe.

The BFC Manager will work closely with Local and Regional colleagues to align timelines for annual planning milestones, and will oversee delivery of these.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Management and oversight of completion of deliverables for Local and Regional Finance colleagues in their market, supporting the overall delivery to Local Market and Regional Teams in Europe
  • Oversee and direct the implementation of workload management across BFC team, to ensure that priorities are identified and delivered, resources are efficiently deployed, peaks are anticipated and managed, and sufficient time is allocated to all BFC deliverables, interactions, and improvement activities
  • People leadership for BFC team members, so that they can develop their skills and experience within the BFC in line with the career / talent framework; this will include coaching and feedback on specific assignments and skills, agreeing and assessing performance objectives, supporting development and completion of individual development plans, managing BFC training plans in line with budget, and build career path for Partners and Analysts in the BFC
  • Project management within agreed deadlines including identifying suitable cross functional team members through to presentation to senior management
  • Active engagement of BFC stakeholders in Business Finance, to understand strategy and evolving needs
  • Provide guidance to BFC Partners, including prioritization of workload, resolution of issues, feedback on tasks & activities, coaching on processes and tools

Key Competencies & Experience

  • Education to degree level or equivalent, Professional Accreditation or MBA/Masters in Finance / Accounting preferred
  • Extensive operational experience in Local or Regional finance environment, with a proven track record in all key finance competencies
  • Strong proven work ethic, ability to multi-task & delegate effectively; relevant professional skills including project management, process improvement, presentation skills, strategic thinking & advisory mindset
  • Own-it culture, teamwork and focus on customer needs and priorities with flexible workstyle, looking for continuous improvements and challenging the status quo
  • Experience in people and small team leadership, with a track record of developing talent to deliver business outcomes is preferable
  • Strong stakeholder / interpersonal skills and communication
  • Ability to manage change and impact / influence senior Stakeholders

Metrics & Success Measures

  • Overall performance of BFC based on feedback

  • Feedback, engagement from finance stakeholders including Regional BFC Lead, Regional Finance Directors and Business Finance Directors

  • Achievement of key PBF milestones

  • Delivery of projects

  • BFC team members performance and development

  • Management of key processes including continuous improvement
