About the Team

Our team focuses on the cloud base data ingestion, delivery, visualization, and machine learning applications. We coordinate closely with a Taiwan based team who develops advanced energy monitoring IoT hardware. Together our mission is to provide responsive energy intelligence through high-quality sensors and data integrations, empowering customers with insights and automation for optimized energy management.

We utilize agile workflows with two-week sprints and quarterly objectives, collaborating closely with product and design teams to validate innovative features. We are committed to excellence in software practices, security, and innovation. Regular pair programming sessions and a culture of mutual support and continuous learning are fundamental to our approach.

About the Role

Development Infrastructure design is a cornerstone of our ability to reach our customers. Our energy intelligence platform and ML systems relies on a versatile, robust and accessible compute environment. These architectures are crafted by passionate people like you. Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure.
• Manage and optimize cloud environments on AWS by minimizing complexity and cost, while maintaining performance.
• Collaborate with development teams to build and manage CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI).
• Ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of our infrastructure.
• Collaborate on maintaining IoT data collection, pipeline, and storage.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure issues and incidents.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years experience managing AWS cloud services.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes (EKS), Helm, Terraform, and Docker.
• Work regularly with our US-base software engineers within the US Pacific Timezone. Occasionally, collaborate with Taiwan hardware team.
• Solid understanding of SQL databases (e.g. Postgres, Redshift) and No-SQL databases (e.g. Cassandra)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. CircleCI)
• 2+ years programming experience (e.g. Python, JavaScript), especially for automating health checks and deployment automation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with networking concepts and technologies (e.g., VPC, DNS, load balancers).
• Understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
• Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable and reliable infrastructure solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ETL processes and data pipelines (e.g., AWS Lambda, AWS StepFunctions, Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, etc.).
• Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies (e.g., Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis).
• Experience with ML systems or ML operations.
• Knowledge with IoT data ingestion (e.g. AWS IoT, MQTT)
• Familiarity with energy data or building management systems (BMS)
