The Construction Project Manager is to estimate, plan, execute, invoice, and finalize projects according to the deadlines and within budget. This opportunity spans our programs involving building and supporting critical infrastructure. This leader must demonstrate competency to lead complex data center construction and retrofit projects. They will be accountable for identifying program requirements, ensuring operational integrity, engaging with internal customers, and delivering reliable program support.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Safety is our number one priority. Follow safe work practices in accordance to company and client worksite policies.
  • Oversee daily site operation of construction project(s)
  • Ensure safety, compliance and quality regulations are followed.
  • Develop and closely track construction schedule and milestones.
  • Communicate project progress with clients and project managers.
  • Manage subcontractors and construction site organization.
  • On site document control and reporting
  • Participates in the RFP Process, completing a detailed review of plans, specifications, and bid form
  • Reviews contract/word orders for content, validity and changes
  • Cultivate and maintain customer relationships to secure and expand business opportunities
  • Coordinate with PE to facilitate that project close-outs are completed efficiently and accurately. May assist in accounts receivable when required
  • Manage customer acceptance and signoff of the project

Education:

  • High School Diploma required, GED or equivalent; Bachelorโ€™s degree in Construction Management or similar preferred.
  • OSHA Training/Certification desired

Experience:

  • 5 - 10+ years of experience in commercial construction or degree in Construction Worker Management or Engineering to equal 2 years of experience
  • Experience in large data center infrastructure industry including technology, quality and safety standards.
  • Minimum 3 yearsโ€™ supervision and/or training experience, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Knowledge of general building codes and BICSI Standards.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability to run forklift a plus
  • Ability to use power tools effectively
  • Strong project/site management and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents
  • Familiarity with regulatory construction standards and building codes
  • Understanding of RFI's and Change Management
  • Knowledge of structured cabling industry including technology, quality and safety standards
  • Ability to elicit cooperation and interact effectively with a wide variety of personnel sources including upper management, clients, contractors, vendors and other departments
  • Strong documentation and administrative skills
  • Must be able to learn and support new and rapidly changing technologies
  • Ability to work within deadlines while maintaining high work quality including ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance
  • Ability to manage construction budgets in accordance to project bid and PM expectations
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
  • Effective oral and written communication skills consistent with the position
  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player
  • Demonstrated team work and flexibility to integrate across multiple work environments
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc)

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, bend, rotate, push, pull, reach with hands and arms on intermittent to regular basis daily. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. The employee may be required to work in tight, confided spaces. The employee must demonstrate regular and on-time attendance. There could be a requirement of occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
