What is the opportunity?
We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join the RBC One team. You will be part of an agile development team that works with a broad range of technologies & products. In this role you will be responsible for effective planning, executing, and tracking of manual & automated testing for a variety of web and back-end applications. You will be conducting both functional and non-function testing (including Performance & Accessibility), developing test automation strategies, and executing on the test automation suite. In addition to executing on the book of work, you will also be collaborating, innovating, and ideating in a flexible environment.
You will be working on a broad range of exciting projects as a member of a cross-functional team of specialists (Scrum Master, Business Analyst, Product Owners, Developers, Quality Assurance Engineers, UI / UX Designer). Youβll have access to subject matter experts, coaches, technical training & resources, and will be reporting into the Director of Agile Engineering.

What will you do?
- Create test plans, test cases and test scripts based on requirement documents and business User Stories
- Develop and maintain automated test suites using test automation tools.
- Execute test cases (manual/automated) document test results and raise defects whenever necessary.
- Work with JIRA, Confluence, qTest for test case management, defect management, test reporting and other functions
- Participate in agile ceremonies like, Sprint planning, grooming sessions, stand-up meetings, demo sessions, and retrospective meetings.
- Participate E2E and integration testing.
- Participate in defect triage and Scrum meetings.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
- Typically requires 7+ years of QE related experience; Hands-on experience in developing testing strategies, executing manual/automated test cases, and reporting to senior management for complex multi-application system integrations.
- Good knowledge of Testing Life Cycle, SDLC and Defect Management processes for application support and development.
- Expert level knowledge in QE Processes, Methodologies and Test Design techniques with hands on experience on qTest, JIRA, JENKINS and Confluence. Experience with Agile Project Methodologies.
- Experience in test automation frameworks/tools e.g., (Robot Framework, Selenium) and script development using scripting languages (e.g., Python)
- Experience testing with databases and using SQL. Experience with Linux and shell scripting
- Strong problem solving, design, and analytical skills and out of the box thinking coming up with creative solutions on testing approach in critical timelines. Excellent communication skills
Nice to Have:
- Experience in web automation testing.
- Experience testing data pipelines.
- QA related certification. E.g. ISTQB, Agile testing etc.
