We’re currently looking for an Engineer I NVH & Wind Noise On-Road Testing to join our team in Stanfield, AZ.

Job Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting NVH and Wind Noise planning/scheduling activities to carry out proving ground testing for Road Noise, Wind Noise, Powertrain Noise, and Exterior Pass-by Noise. This includes testing to develop cost/weight effective NVH countermeasures as well as competitive vehicle evaluation, benchmarking and trend analysis.

Job functions include but are not limited to:

  • Solving technical NVH issues through formulating test plans, analyzing NVH data & developing optimized NVH countermeasures.
  • Making presentations (with appropriate NVH technical material) to negotiate necessary changes with other Performance Test Departments, Design Functions, and Program Management Teams.
  • Test planning to provide direction to ensure our Technician team has clear information & resources to complete testing on time.
  • Supporting new program launches through both line walks and audits at Nissan’s manufacturing plants (including static and dynamic evaluations to level concern/issue severity with key persons).
  • Creating Test Reports to document key development work output and next actions.
  • Supporting quality investigations and countermeasure development to reduce warranty & support Nissan's quality leadership goals for external metrics (JD Powers, Consumers Reports, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications:

Education. A BSME degree is required for this position, MSME is preferred.

Years of Experience. Minimum of 1-year professional-level experience in a related engineering discipline.

Specific Course/Certifications. Coursework or internship/co-op experience related to NVH (Noise, Vibration & Harshness), acoustics, data acquisition, signal processing, mechanical vibrations, or vehicle dynamics is desirable.

Travel Required. Travel to Nissan’s North American manufacturing plants, Farmington Hills MI, Japan, and Suppliers/Dealers is required (up to 15% of the year).
