The Production Scientist (Swing Shift) for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for setting up and operating automatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation. You will be responsible for monitoring meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications.

This position is part of Formulation group located just outside Tulla in Lismeehan, O'Callaghan's Mills, Co. Clare and will be based on-site full time. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Manufacture CSCA ,Clinical Chemistry & Immunology reagents
  • Complete in process analyser testing of Immunology products
  • Complete Failure Investigation where required on non-conforming product/OOS and prepare and maintain Production Procedures to comply with current practices and required Quality Standards.
  • Calibrate and maintain Production equipment and ensure all CCF’s and ECC’s are completed on time for the department,
  • Complete tank cleaning; use and maintain the CIP system

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor of Science degree (Level 8) with a minimum of 1 years of experience in a laboratory environment with good working knowledge of laboratory techniques.
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment such as analytical balance, pH meter, pipettes, fume hoods, spectrophotometers, etc.
  • Ability to deliver basic presentations
  • Strong attention to detail to support upkeep of neat and accurate written records as per relevant Formulation procedures
  • Ability to communicate well both within and outside the department with peers and colleagues
  • Self-starter with ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Previous industrial formulating/compounding experience
  • Knowledge and awareness of GMP and safety practices
  • Demonstrated compliance with set Housekeeping / Safety / Environmental standards and regulations within the department.

The hours of work for this role are as follows:

  • Week 1: 8.00am to 4.00pm daily, Monday through Thursday and 8.00am – 3.00pm on Friday.
  • Week 2: 4.00pm to 12.00am Monday through Thursday and 3.00pm -10.00pm Friday.
