What You’ll Be Doing:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Data Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate should have 2 to 3 years of experience and a strong background in US healthcare. As a Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in extracting valuable insights from complex data sets, driving data-driven decision-making, and contributing to the development of innovative healthcare solutions. The position is REMOTE.

Responsibilities

  • Data Exploration and Cleaning:
    • Gather data from various internal and external sources related to healthcare
    • Clean, preprocess, and transform raw data into usable formats
    • Ensure data quality and accuracy
  • Statistical Analysis and Modeling:
    • Apply statistical techniques to analyze healthcare data
    • Develop predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and statistical models.
    • Identify patterns, trends, and correlations within healthcare data
  • Healthcare Domain Knowledge:
    • Understand healthcare processes, terminology, and industry-specific challenges.
    • Collaborate with domain experts to translate business requirements into data science solutions
  • Proof of Concepts (POCs) and Rapid Prototyping:
    • Rapidly prototype and develop POCs to validate hypotheses, explore ideas, and summarize results in a visually compelling fashion
    • Evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of data-driven solutions. Estimate level of effort for end-to-end development and integration of a new solution
  • Implementation and Deployment:
    • Collaborate with software engineers, project managers, and product teams to implement data science solutions into healthcare products within set timelines
    • Ensure seamless integration of pipelines, models, and algorithms into production systems
  • Communication and Visualization:
    • Present findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
    • Create clear and compelling visualizations to communicate complex results
  • Cloud-Based Intelligence Services:
    • Familiarity with cloud-based services and components for data storage, processing, and analytics
    • Experience with platforms such as AWS (Amazon Web Services), Azure, or Google Cloud

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related technical field
  • Experience: 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in data science, preferably in the healthcare domain
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Python
    • Understanding of different algorithms and data structures, including performance/scalability considerations
    • Strong statistical analysis skills
    • Experience with machine learning libraries, including cloud-based solutions (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, AWS SageMaker, Azure ML)
    • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, PowerBI)
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong work ethic and excellent problem-solving abilities
    • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
    • Reliability, adaptability, and willingness to learn new techniques and tools

Mandatory Requirements:

We require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 Mbps, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router. These at-home technical requirements are subject to change with any scheduled re-opening of our office locations.
