Sr. Manager, Data Engineering, Brampton, ON (1 Year Contract)

As a Senior Manager, Data Engineering you will work alongside team of self-motivated and well-respected team members building high-value analytical products and platforms.

You will lead a team of data analysts and engineers to successfully deliver data products that meet project and program requirements. In our highly collaborative and agile work environment, the ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and deep technical expertise. A successful candidate will be passionate about data, with a strong foundation in data management concepts and engineering standards.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the delivery of technical data products in collaboration with the business and analytics teams. Create project plan, including timelines and resource requirements and manage communication across portfolio of stakeholders and technology leadership.
  • Oversee and drive all stages of development and manage day to day sprint activities. Create, refine, and prioritize user stories. Aid the team to remove any impediments encountered during sprint activities.
  • Contribute to the ongoing maturity, quality, and speed of delivery through the improvement of agile processes. Provide mentorship to team members responsible for development work.

What you Bring:

  • Proven experience in technical product management, with the ability to develop a technical product vision that aligns with business outcomes
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the capability to partner and influence across the organization.
  • Demonstrated expertise in utilizing complex analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving techniques to derive actionable insights.
  • Extensive experience in leading and transforming end-to-end processes, including process design and metrics definition. Strong knowledge of Agile values, frameworks, and principles, as well as familiarity with Business Agility.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and relational databases such as Teradata, Oracle, and SQL Server. Experience with cloud data platforms, including GCP, Azure, and AWS.
