Job Description

Position Summary:

Rockwell Automation is seeking an experienced QA/Test Engineer to join our global Quality Assurance Center of Excellence. This role requires a subject matter expert on QA fundamentals and strong foundation on testing automation and DevOps. The QA/Test Engineer collaborates with all other teams to assist, review, govern, and educate business teams on Quality Assurance best practices. Activities include evaluating new tools, developing test strategies, assisting, and training teams on automation, documentation, and root cause analysis. The role is also key to determining testing vectors, identifying coverage deficiencies, shifting-left, and providing all testing methods.

Key Responsibilities:
• Experience with agile frameworks. Participate proactively in standup meetings, sprint planning, story grooming sessions, team retrospectives, and implementing improvements.
• Interacting with business teams on initiatives and how they should be approached from a testing standpoint.
• Providing test strategies and mentoring teams on how and why certain practices are important.
• Develop test cases, scenarios, and scripts based on user stories, business requirements, and technical specifications.
• Ensuring the integrity of data from ingestion through reporting, including normalization, business logic and other transformation stages.
• Assist teams with test design and automation for all types of testing, including system, regression, functional, end-to-end, data integrity, and performance.
• Automate test cases and scenarios.
• Provide workshops, training, and standards for business teams.
• Governance to ensure adequate test coverage and best practices.
• Configure and manage test environments and data related to strategies.
• Exhibit a holistic approach to testing strategies.
• Strong business awareness and priorities
• Analyze and offer architectural improvements to determine testability.
• Perform code reviews to assist with root cause analysis.
• Build end point simulations as necessary.
• Enterprise test tool management and administration
• Error documentation and debugging.

Technical Experience:
• Expert level grasp of Quality Assurance fundamentals
• Hands on test development and execution
• Extensive experience with test automation
• Familiarity with performance testing tools (jMeter, Gatling, Postman etc.)
• Familiarity with enterprise test automation suites (UFT/QTP, Selenium)
• Must be Tosca Certified AS1 and AS2
• Tosca DI experience a big plus. Automation hands-on background in any of these tools is mandatory: Tosca, Selenium, UFT and any other Automation Tool.
• Advanced knowledge of ALM and test management tools (Jira, qTest)
• Knowledge of BDD design theories
• Familiar with Data Integrity testing including experience with database technologies, query building (DAX, MDX, SQL), ETL concepts, cloud-based data solutions, and business intelligence solutions.
• Intermediate software development and scripting skills
GSM - QA/Test Engineer – Center of Excellence
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, API and Performance testing a Plus
• Familiar with qTest and Tosca Integration
• Knowledge of Browserstack a plus

• Experience with the agile software development process

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Typically requires 3+ years in testing automation and/or development.
