Optical Architect Engineer - Space

What will you be doing?

As a Optical Architect engineer, you will join our team in Portsmouth to support our activities within the Space sector.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Develop comprehensive optical architectures for new products and systems.
• Oversee the prototyping, testing, and validation phases to ensure designs meet performance and reliability standard.
• Lead the design, simulation, and optimization of optical components and systems using advanced optical design software.
• Conduct performance analysis, tolerance analysis, and risk assessments for optical designs.

Who are we looking for?

• Proven experience in optical system prototyping, testing, and validation within a space or Aerospace background.
• Deep knowledge of geometrical optics, physical optics, and optical materials.

Requirements

Experience, skills and qualifications required:

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
