PURPOSE:

The Head of Asset Management is accountable for overseeing and optimizing APMT’s assets to maximize value and efficiency. This includes managing asset performance, controlling costs, P&L, and ensuring proper maintenance to extend asset lifespan and reliability. Identify and mitigate risks, developing strategic plans for asset acquisition and utilization, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. Also, to handle warehouse, inventory management, and investment decisions related to new assets, upgrades, or disposals. Continuously seek improvements through innovation and process enhancements. The main goal is to support the APMT’s strategic objectives by maximizing asset value while minimizing costs and risks.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

SAFETY

  • Ensure all functional areas within the Asset Management umbrella are complying to terminal HSSE protocol and guidelines.
  • Ensure the safety of all technical personnel working within the terminal are led by example through exhibiting and displaying best behaviors and practices.
  • Ensure all equipment and facility is maintained in accordance with local legislation and standards specified by APMT Global functions and industry best practices.

PERFORMANCE

  • Ensure all Preventative, Corrective and Emergency maintenance of the Terminal and Equipment is efficiently performed.
  • Ensure KPIs for equipment availability, reliability, cost etc are met for equipment under their responsibility.
  • Ensure all required Asset Management KPIs and measures are correctly captured, calculated, recorded, and reported as required.

STRATEGY

  • Define and develop Facility and Equipment maintenance strategies are developed for the terminal including all minimum requirements specified by Global Asset Maintenance.
  • Lead the continuous review and improvement of Asset and Terminal maintenance strategies.

ASSET INTEGRITY

  • Accountable for ensuring the integrity of all equipment and plant under management or ownership is executed with appropriate preventive, predictive and emergency repair.
  • Manage a risk-based approach to pending corrective maintenance, considering the compounded risk to safety and operation through multiple failures or defects, in both aging and new assets and facilities.

RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

  • Ensure the most efficient use of the team, working closely with the Inventory and Warehouse, Planning Departments, Facilities and Equipment Managers to ensure work is planned accurately and scheduled realistically on all aspects of the terminal.
  • Manage contracts for outsourcing of services or specialist activities as required.

LEADERSHIP/PEOPLE

  • Ensure the team have all necessary skills and competencies required to perform their normal duties.
  • Develop the skills and competencies of their team members, taking into account succession planning and career progression where relevant using MPACT as a driving performance management framework.

COST MANAGEMENT

  • Develop budget for all Terminal Asset Management related scope.
  • Proactively track and manage cost of maintenance for their equipment, intervening when costs escalate and identifying ways to reduce costs.
  • Maintain Facility and Warehouse following global APMT standards.

CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Necessary to perform the requirements of the position:

  • Education – Minimum four (4) year degree from an accredited college in related industry.
  • Experience – Five (5) years in an operational Maintenance & Repair or facility management related environment.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills.
  • Extensive experience in a service-oriented environment with a strong emphasis on stakeholder management.
  • Understanding of Asset Maintenance planning metrics, principles, its processes and requirements.
  • Practical, planning and work scheduling capabilities, ready to improve and challenge the status quo.
  • Understanding of (APMT used) software data systems and their interfaces.
  • Familiar with LEAN concepts and Principles with ability to apply theory into practice.
  • Structured, driven, self-motivating, result orientated.
  • Highly disciplined – following through on actions and ensuring necessary documentation.
  • High quality awareness and ability to work with constant care.
  • Sensitive to cultural diversity and experience in a multicultural environment, with respect to employees, local authorities and other stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Responsible to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Hands-On and can-do mentality and critical thinking with the ability to solve complex problems daily and in a structured manner by generating, evaluating, and implementing solutions.
  • Promote good working relationships between internal and external stakeholders, including other terminal departments and transient workforce.
  • Performs additional position related duties as specified by management.
  • Support APM Terminal’s commitment to Safety, Health, and the Environment.

Job Type: Full Time

Salary: USD 171,000.00 - USD 200,000.00

Benefits: Full time employees are eligible For Health Insurance, Paid Time Off, and 401k match

The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for this position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
