As Intermediate ITS Designer you will play a vital role in delivery of ITS projects for provincial, municipal and private sector clients. Working closely with senior engineers and project managers you will participate in variety of ITS engineering projects form conceptual designs, systems engineering, feasibility studies, technology market research, prepare technical drawings and documentation that facilitate the procurement, construction and integration of Intelligent Transportation Systems.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting research, presenting technical content to internal teams and clients, developing presentations and reports Developing ITS concept designs using MS Visio Drafting and Design
- Utilize AutoCAD software to create ITS layouts, wiring diagrams, detailed drawings, network schematics
- Developing project schedules using MS Project and Excel Documentation
- Organize and manage files and project documentation effectively.
- Coordination: Coordinate with other team members, internal and external stakeholders such as other engineering disciplines, contractors, and regulatory agencies, to integrate ITS designs seamlessly with overall project plans.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of drawings and documentation to identify and resolve errors, or inconsistencies. Ensure that drawings comply with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Software Proficiency: Stay proficient in CAD software tools and related applications, O365, MS Project, Visio
- Communicate effectively with team members, clients and stakeholders to clarify design requirements, address technical issues, and provide updates on project progress. Participate in design meetings and reviews as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering: Civil or Electrical
- Minimum 5 years of experience in ITS design, preferably in consulting engineering sector. Familiarity with ITS engineering industry, technology, concepts and terminology
- Detail-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
