Key Responsibilities

• Primarily responsible for delivering high-quality code that encompasses both Software Engineering and DevOps requirements on-schedule
• Primarily responsible for monitoring/supporting Production environments independently, escalating as required to technical leadership
• Able to independently manage stories and tasks, with minimal oversight and act as a high-level contributor
• Ability to establish trust and personal reliability with product software engineers to investigate and support initiatives
• Contribute to backlog refinement/estimation of Platform Engineering initiatives
• Contribute to Platform Engineering Architecture, Code Review, Process Improvement
• Strategic Problem-Solving: Tackle complex system performance issues, employing advanced analytical skills to maintain reliability and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience with DevOps experience blended in
• Led or participated in multiple technical projects as a high-contribution engineer
• Software Engineering experience with the following toolsets/languages:
• Node with ES6 Javascript - 3+ years of experience
• Back-end expertise required
• SQL expertise (Postgres preferred) - 4+ years of experience
• Database query performance understanding required
• OOP expertise, architectural experience
• Docker experience
• DevOps Experience with the following toolsets:
• AWS - Cloudformation and/or CDK (preferred)
• Docker with Kubernetes/ECS/EKS (devops side)
• Lambda, VPC Networking, Storage, IAM Security, Redis
• Terraform (nice-to-have)
• Leadership skills with the ability to mentor others, influence cross-functional teams, and lead by example in a collaborative environment.
• Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to foster an environment of teamwork and cooperation.
• Exceptional English communication skills with team members, stakeholders, and customers, ensuring clear and effective exchange of information.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach to identifying and resolving system issues efficiently.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and under pressure, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

Additional Experience Desired

• Advanced certifications related to DevOps, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and Kubernetes, validating specialized skills and knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize efforts based on business impact, highlighting strategic planning and project management skills.
• Proven experience in providing accurate status tracking and reporting, ensuring transparency and effective communication within and across teams.
• Capability to estimate testing and deployment efforts accurately, showcasing an understanding of project scope and timelines.
