Senior Architect

The IT Infrastructure department is responsible for global infrastructure deliveries and operations in Statkraft. You will participate in a wide range of initiatives improving how our employees can work smarter and more efficient utilizing new technologies. The department is part of a large IT organization with more than 150 employees delivering services to employees in 19 countries from our own modern data centers and public cloud. Statkraft has been using cloud since 2015 and are now fully devoted moving most of our services to Azure.

In this role, you will join an experienced hybrid infrastructure- and platform architecture team. The team deliver new innovative architecture enabling business capabilities and services globally across the enterprise. You will be responsible for the future strategies and roadmaps of databases and new modern data handing capabilities. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge data handling technologies and stay up to date with the latest trends in the field.

In this role, you will:

• Play a crucial role in strategic planning, development of roadmaps, frameworks and technical principles for the future use of database and data handling capabilities
• Ensure that our solutions have needed performance, security and data integrity and are aligned with business goals
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define strategies, standards, and procedures
• Provide technical leadership and guidance
• Provide technical thought leadership on High-Level Architecture and Design, data modelling, Big Data strategy & adoption
• Deliver concepts and architecture to IT projects

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant fields, with ten or more years of experience in database and data handling technologies.
• Proficiency in database systems (SQL, NoSQL, NewSQL), cloud-native databases (especially in Azure), and experience with Oracle and SQL Server, both in Azure and on-premises. Familiarity with big data technologies like Hadoop and Spark.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL tools, data architecture principles, and data processing techniques. Competence in data governance, data quality, security, compliance, and metadata management.
• Ability to analyze system requirements, recommend suitable solutions, and clearly communicate complex database concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Capability to deliver and implement strategies, roadmaps, frameworks, and standards within an organization.
• Knowledge of data integration and transformation tools, business intelligence platforms, and AI applications in database management. Experience with storage, backup solutions, and network knowledge.
• Fluent in Norwegian and English.
