Job Description:

Job Family Definition:

FPGA/CPLD Designs, analyzes, develops, modifies and evaluates electrical/electronic parts, components, sub-systems, algorithms, or integrated circuitry for electrical/electronic equipment and other hardware systems. Conducts feasibility studies, design margin and validation analyses and empirical testing on new and modified designs. Assists in architecture development and assessment. Evaluates reliability of materials, properties, designs, and techniques used in production. May direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication.

Management Level Definition:

Contributions include applying developed subject matter expertise to solve common and sometimes complex technical problems and recommending alternatives where necessary. Might act as project lead and provide assistance to lower level professionals. Exercises independent judgment and consults with others to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Skilled FPGA/CPLD Design Engineer with strong capabilities in Intel/AMD/ARM/NVidia system- and hardware-level design.
  • Responsible for development and integration of CPLD’s that implement functionality on prototypes: spanning from low-level hardware control & status for embedded systems, to high-speed links, to high level IP blocks, to custom hardware-accelerated algorithms & filters.
  • Designing test method/CPLD test plan and release CPLD.
  • Debugging Platform and System issues.
  • Debugging customer FPGA/CPLD related issues.
  • Co-work with Hardware and Software engineers in development.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Typically 5-10 years experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Expert in Verilog RTL language. Experienced with large CPLD/FPGA development on Lattice, Altera and Xilinx devices.
  • Familiar with Lattice, Altera's and Xilinx's build flow including design entry in Verilog, synthesis, place and route, timing constraints and timing closure.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Designing electronic components, integrated circuitry, and algorithms
  • Experience with lab debug equipment, such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
  • Experience with verification methodologies, RTL and gate level simulations and debug.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels.
  • Multi-project management experience is a plus.
  • System FW design (C/C++) and experience with MCUs, STM32, UCD3138, NXP K32L ... is a plus.
  • Self-driven to learn new technology.
