About the role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Trade Lane Manager to join our team. This fully remote position is based in China and will focus on developing and expanding our business in the USA market through China-based Cliental. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales within the freight forwarding industry and possess an existing book of business.

This is a full-time role.

Responsibilities (but are not limited to):

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base for the USA:
    • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and industry trends.
    • Develop a comprehensive sales strategy targeting key sectors and regions within China.
    • Set clear, measurable goals and regularly review progress with management.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the freight forwarding sector:
    • Actively prospect and engage with potential clients through various channels, including cold calls, emails, and networking events.
    • Utilize industry contacts and existing relationships to generate leads.
    • Attend industry conferences and trade shows to network and promote our services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing tailored solutions to meet their logistics needs:
    • Understand client requirements and offer customized solutions that align with their business objectives.
    • Provide ongoing support and ensure client satisfaction through regular check-ins and feedback sessions.
    • Develop long-term partnerships by delivering consistent value and reliability.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction:
    • Work closely with operations, customer service, and finance teams to ensure smooth execution of shipments.
    • Communicate client expectations and requirements clearly to internal teams.
    • Resolve any issues or challenges promptly to maintain high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Present and demonstrate our services to potential clients, highlighting our expertise:
    • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
    • Showcase our capabilities and track record in handling complex logistics requirements.
    • Highlight the benefits of partnering with us, including cost savings, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals to achieve quarterly and annual sales targets:
    • Lead contract negotiations with prospective clients, ensuring favorable terms for both parties.
    • Close deals effectively, meeting or exceeding sales targets.
    • Maintain detailed records of sales activities and client interactions in CRM software.
  • Make carrier contracts with shipping lines:
    • Negotiate and secure competitive rates and terms with shipping lines.
    • Ensure that carrier contracts support the company’s overall strategic goals and client requirements.
  • Customer visits and relationship management:
    • Conduct in-person visits with key clients as needed to strengthen relationships and address any concerns.
    • Travel within the region for client meetings and site visits.
  • Attend business conferences and expos:
    • Represent the company at relevant business conferences, expos, and industry events.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and network with potential clients and partners.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sales Specialist in the freight forwarding industry, with a focus on the USA market.
  • Existing book of business that can be leveraged to generate immediate sales.
  • Strong understanding of international shipping, logistics, and customs clearance processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and remotely.
  • Fluency in English and Chinese (both written and spoken).
  • Willingness to travel for client visits and industry events.
