Group Treasury is responsible for oversight on benchmarks usage, contribution, and administration of ING Bank worldwide and specifically for the contribution to interest rate benchmarks (i.e., EURIBOR). To avoid any form of misconduct in the use, contribution, and administration of these benchmarks throughout the bank, Group Treasury has implemented and is maintaining a sound governance and control framework and global oversight. In addition, Group Treasury is pro-actively involved in any developments on benchmarks that took a flight ever since the detection of manipulation of interest rate benchmarks in 2009.

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated colleague to join as Junior Benchmark Officer in the Group Treasury CCT team (Control, Change & Transformation team) to further strengthen the benchmark oversight across ING Bank.

CCT team is a ‘1st line of defense’ business control function within Group Treasury. We are a team of professional, dedicated, result-oriented colleagues who share a common mission in creating and maintaining an operationally efficient environment that is compliant, future-proof, and facilitates seamless execution of Group Treasury’s business processes. CCT is the linking pin between Front Office and supporting departments.

In addition to general business management responsibilities to support the traders and management, this role will have a particular emphasis on financial benchmarks in terms of: managing the governance and control framework for contribution to EURIBOR, global oversight of financial benchmark activities across ING Bank, staying on top of regulatory requirements and changes concerning financial benchmarks and their impact to ING Bank (in particular the EU Benchmark Regulation), following up on the reform of interest rate benchmarks and take the necessary actions, and overseeing contribution in Netherlands for regulatory reporting of data related to benchmark contributions

How to succeed

The ideal candidate feels comfortable in Group Treasury Front Office environment. For this position you do require current residency in the Netherlands.
Furthermore, you have:

  • 1-3 years of knowledge of and experience in finance, banking, risk, regulatory requirements
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, good in MS Excel
  • Good communication skills in English (oral and written)
  • Self-motivated, ability and willingness to adapt quickly to new concepts and procedures
  • Flexible and delivery minded
  • You are a collaborative team player that believes in and incorporates ING’s Orange Code into your daily work practices
  • Prior knowledge of financial benchmarks, the EU Benchmark Regulation or Financial Market/Treasury processes would be an asset
