We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Member of Technical Staff to join our Platform and Data Services division. In this role, you will collaborate with senior engineering and product leadership to design, develop, and maintain essential tools and services that enhance our software development lifecycle (SDLC) and adjacent tools. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring the robustness, efficiency, and scalability of our development processes and tools, including SonarQube, Backstage, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and others. Proficiency in Java, Python, or other programming languages is essential.

About You

You are a fast learner, well-versed in programming languages, with significant experience working with SDLC/DevOps tools. You can guide and mentor junior developers, helping them grow their capabilities. You will partner with Product and Business leadership daily to gather requirements and set priorities. You are a tenacious yet nimble learner who consistently demonstrates design and engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities

· Technical Design: Produce accurate, unambiguous technical design specifications with appropriate detail.

· Issue Resolution: Coordinate and troubleshoot complex technical issues until resolution.

· Expertise: Act as the subject matter expert for your area of assignment.

· Automation: Identify and reduce manual work through automation, applying a code-first mentality.

· Scrum Participation: Participate in scrum teams, following the practices outlined by the team.

· Mentorship: Advise and train team members to maximize overall productivity and effectiveness.

· Innovation: Proactively identify and propose new, alternative technologies to create scalable implementations and achieve results.

· Best Practices: Understand and follow engineering conventions, architectures, and best practices.

Typical Qualifications

· Experience: Ideally 5+ years of software engineering experience with significant product development expertise.

· Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

· Programming Languages: Knowledge of modern programming languages such as Java, Python, and JavaScript/jQuery.

· Cloud Services: Strong foundation in cloud services, particularly AWS.

· Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Good knowledge and experience with IaC tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Puppet.

· SDLC Tools: Strong experience with SDLC tools like SonarQube, Jenkins, Bitbucket, build automation tools like Maven and Gradle, and developer portal tools like Backstage.

· Additional Skills: Knowledge of Unix/Linux, SQL, and Graph DBs like Neo4j.

· Coding Skills: Ability to write code that is technically sound, performant, scalable, and readable.

· Methodologies: Experience with Agile and CI/CD concepts.
