Job Summary: A UX Researcher II contributes significantly to teams' understanding of user behaviours, needs and motivations. She/he owns and executes part of the UX research strategy for a business or product line. She/ he uses observation techniques, interviews, task analysis and other feedback methodologies. She/he ensures our produts are regularly tested with users.
Responsibilities:
Customer (or User) Focus
• Leads research to explore and understand user needs.
• Is familiar with and can use customer frameworks (e.g. Jobs To Be Done, personas).
• Makes research driven recommendations to improve the overall user experience.
• Analyzes and interprets what is happening in the market, driven by the latest news/incidents, particularly competitive announcements and events.
• Continuously aims to meet customer expectations.
Creative Problem Solving
• Asks the right questions to explore the problem.
• Works with designers to iterate and test solutions.
• Independently identifies different research solutions.
• Collaboratively analyses the results of research to recommend solutions.
• Builds a high level of empathy with the user.
• Considers the problem from a number of angles.
Product Design
• Follows a User-Centred research process.
• Applies a number of UX Research techniques.
• Creates research documentation and analysis outputs.
• Runs small-medium research projects.
• Works with UX Designer to define structure and layout of the product.
• Works with Visual Designer to define the visual identity of products.
Data Driven Analysis & Testing
• Regularly tests design work with users in partnership with UX Design team.
• Proactively uses data to establish key metrics for projects.
• Iterates research methods based on testing and data analysis.
• Explores data from analytics packages, customer insight or other sources to understand context of research work.
• Identifies gaps where data is needed.
Technical Skills
• Uses relevant tools for research analysis.
• Understands the nuances of researching in different contexts (remote / in person / unmoderated /moderated).
• Has a very good knowledge of the tech stack of the organisation.
• Uses research software (Qualtics, Lookback, Usertesting.com) to intermediate level.
• Builds good working relationships with tech teams.

Suggested Minimum Years of Experience: 4-6 years

Education to Qualify: Bachelors or Masters degree in a design subject (Psychology, UX, HCI, Product Design, Design, Graphic Design, etc discipline) is preferred, but not required
