This is a brand new role, and with that comes the opportunity for someone to carve out new processes and add value from day one. It will suit someone who likes the balance of analytical/research-based projects with a tangible and meaningful impact that will have a genuine effect on company P&L. Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Proactively gathering data about the global supply and demand landscape within the bulk commodity marketplace via an array of sources
  • Origination and validation of additional data sources
  • Creation of models and databases to organise into meaningful information for the trading desks to inform positions
  • Forecasting surpluses and deficits in the landscape
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business growth initiatives.
  • Keeping abreast of industry developments, regulations, and geopolitical events that may impact commodity markets.
  • Preparing reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Highly proficient with MS Excel.
  • Whilst support will be available, this role would suit a resourceful character with a history of solving problems where there is not always a defined logic or pre-existing data source.
  • Prior analyst level within the commodities industry, in a similar analytical/research-based position in the front-office.
  • Exposure to the core concepts of physical commodity trade flows, and supply and demand dynamics.
  • Able to clearly articulate complex topics/data to a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced trading environment.
  • Self-motivated and proactive approach to work, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as finance, economics, or engineering.

Benefits

  • Annual discretionary bonus
  • 25 days holiday
  • Company pension scheme (10% company contribution)
  • Private medical scheme with a range of additional wellbeing benefits
  • Travel insurance
  • Income protection
  • Life assurance (5x salary)
  • Bike2Work scheme including secure onsite storage and showers
  • Season ticket loan
  • Onsite top of the range gym
  • Social environment with an onsite breakout area with a golf simulator, darts board and foosball table.
