Senior IoT & Automation Engineer

Rijeka Gateway d.o.o. (RGW), a joint venture between APM Terminals and ENNA Logic, is reaching the final stage of the big project: building the high-tech Rijeka Gateway Terminal.

The purpose of the Senior IoT & Automation Engineer is to support deployment of real time industrial automation technology and machine-control architecture regarding strategy, safety philosophy and logics, support automation development and verification activities and resources, contribute to building and working together with a strong and agile product deployment team, including a wide range of engineering disciplines.

This key position is overall accountable for:

• End-user support services to agreed service levels.
• Providing support and maintenance of local IoT and Automation infrastructure requiring hands-on intervention, to agreed service levels and in collaboration with the global automation team.
• Local IoT & Automation System support to stay within warranty and vendor support.

He/she is responsible for:

• Work with the Automation Deployment team and end-users to effectively support the implementation of the Automated products in live terminal operations as per defined scope and schedule, and to resolve any issues/challenges that arise.
• Actively participate and contribute to Solution Design, Testing, Evaluation and commissioning of Industrial Automation Systems, Applications, Network and Infrastructure as well as their interfaces.
• Troubleshoot issues related to industrial network and Wireless connectivity and document solutions into knowledge database.
• Continuously monitor and proactively report on related risks and opportunities with the deployment of the Automated products and work with the project team towards mitigating it.
• Ensure defined service management processes are followed for IT and OT components.
• Provide feedback to continuously improve the service management processes for industrial automation.
• Contribute to research and development of innovative ideas and concepts to enhance the company’s performance and competitiveness in the field of industrial automation in close cooperation with the Automation Engineering/I&A Platform team in Maersk Technology.
• Liaise with sub-contractors, vendors, and 3rd party system integrator for deployment and integration of automation solutions.
• Resolve Incidents within agreed service levels.
• Participate in regional CAB.

Critical Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

Experience:

• Preferably 3 years of IT or automation experience.
• Experience in the industry, or international environment is an advantage.

Skills:

• Knowledge of end-user software and devices.
• Knowledge of automation infrastructure components.
• Experienced at working according to industry standard ITSM practices.
• Communicative – able to translate between technical and user language.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Excellent level of communication in Croatian and English.

Education

• University degree Bachelor of Science (BSc), Computer Science, or related field (Equivalent education and work experience may be substituted).
