We are currently looking for a Field Engineer to support the implementation of our growth strategy in Advanced Applications. This role is located at our Summerville, SC HQ (not a remote position).
This multifunction role extends across many areas of the organization. Although primarily technical, this role will be expected to collaborate with many departments and participate in sales, customer support and project management activities. The Field Engineer will routinely work with end-user customers and our dealer network.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Function as the SME (subject matter expert) for advanced applications which include telematics, and truck and pedestrian awareness systems, both software and corresponding hardware
  • Install product hardware at customer locations, may include both facility installations and installations on industrial trucks
  • Configure customer sites using software programs
  • Support sales staff and dealers during the sales process by answering questions and providing feedback
  • Manage multiple customer projects with varying hardware and software products
  • Coordinate with application engineers, technicians, and dealers to complete projects on time, within budget, and to customer expectations
  • Assist in defining project scope, objectives and execution.
  • Assist with new product development
  • Assist with customer service
  • Assist in conducting product training sessions both in digital and in-person formats
  • Assist in monitoring project performance

Tasks and Qualifications:

Qualifications:

 Forklift service or forklift production experience a plus
 Technical training/Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Software, Computer Science, Electrical) or related desired
 Computer skills required: Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, OneNote, Teams). Additional experience with CAD type software a plus.
 Comfortable learning new software
 Mechanical aptitude
 Electronic equipment experience is desired
 Ability to lead projects with limited supervision
 Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
 Team-oriented
 Customer focused
 A focus on performance and results
 Must be dependable, pay attention to detail, and show strong initiative
 Must have excellent organizational skills
 Prior experience in customer support is a plus
 Prior forklift or telematics experience is a plus

Education:

 Technical Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Software, Computer Science, Electrical) or related desired OR equivalent work experience in forklift service or forklift production
