Research Engineering Team Lead

Flow Traders is looking for a Research Engineer Team Lead to join our Quantitative Tools team in our Amsterdam office. What you will do

• Lead and mentor a small team responsible for developing our global research frameworks/tools
• Lead the architecture and development of our systematic trading platform, including the research frameworks/tools as well as the production trading systems
• Coordinate the efforts required to develop and expand the scope of this platform globally across all teams involved

What you need to succeed

• Experience in leading, coaching and mentoring less experienced engineers
• 10 + years of experience in software development industry in a fast paced tech environment
• Prior commercial experience in designing and implementing systematic trading systems (inc. low-latency trading engines/algorithms, research frameworks/pipelines, and the integration between them)
• Extensive hands-on working experience as a leading individual contributor in Python, Java and/or C++
• Demonstrated ability to guide software architecture and decision-making throughout the organization
• Familiarity with Big Data technologies (e.g. Hadoop and Spark) and machine learning tools (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong analytical skills and a data-first mindset
