About the role :

As Chief of Staff you’ll be a key part of the day-to-day running of heycar UK. Reporting to the Managing Director, you’ll work across all teams in the business including Marketing, Sales and eCommerce. You’ll align closely with the Leadership Team & Head of Departments to make sure of the optimal running of heycar UK

You’ll oversee strategic business initiatives, from development through to successful execution, you’ll support the engagement of senior external stakeholders and shareholders. You’ll be a pivotal part of the cohesion of the leadership team to drive commercial success.

What you’ll do:

  • Act as the go-to person for the team, including senior leaders and the Managing Directors, keeping everyone connected and informed about things such as the company climate, proposals, and plans
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the MD, providing strategic counsel and support on various business matters, assisting on keeping focus, having a deep understanding of the vision and priorities
  • Work closely with senior leaders and department heads to make sure daily operations run smoothly, handling tasks like managing calendars, facilitating working groups, creating presentation slides, planning shareholder meetings, and scheduling facilities
  • Conduct commercial analysis to drive positive outcomes using data-driven insights
  • Turning this data analysis into meaningful propositions in the form of pricing strategies and proposals to support the MD and Sales Director
  • Build strong relationships with all team members to improve efficiency and responsiveness in current operations. Collaborate with the MD on a wide range of special projects both external and internal that the MD and senior leaders determine will be impactful
  • Be the expert on various topics, manage enquiries, help identify and resolve organisational challenges and bottlenecks, working to streamline operations and improve overall efficiency
  • Develop action plans, and assist in preparing and sharing communications

What you’ll need:

Essential:

  • Working with others: Proven experience thriving in a work environment where you have earned the trust of leadership and outstanding interpersonal skills and a strong executive presence
  • Experience: at least 5 years experience within a business that is largely digitally driven. You’ll also need to understand data and the commercial side of a business, how it makes money and how revenue can be optimised
  • Reporting: Highly experienced with Excel or Google Sheets for reporting and analytics
  • Communication: the ability to convince, unite, and communicate in a simple and easy-to-understand way
  • Startup mentality: we’re four years old and our data’s not perfect, but you won’t let that hold you back from proving/disproving a hypothesis
  • Network: stakeholder management is key to this role, you’ll need to interpret the needs of the business, clarify briefs and prioritise your workload based on the needs of the business
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a Powerpoint or Google Slides genius

Desirable:

  • Systems: knowledge of HEX (our data visualisation tool) or any other visualisation tool (Looker, Tableau etc)
  • Experience: Prior experience in a marketplace/eCommerce business
  • Skills: A solid knowledge of Hubspot with the goal to become an expert
