Role Overview

The Change Analyst is responsible for providing analysis and administrative support to changes within a customer’s site and ensuring that all changes progress in a timely manner within the change management lifecycle. The purpose of this role is to ensure that changes and releases made on systems within Datacom’s control adhere to the defined Change Management Processes

Role Responsibilities

The Change Analyst is responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Ensuring all changes comply to the requirements of the Datacom Change Management processes
  • Ensuring that Support Teams, Customers and ITIL Process owners adhere to the Change Management processes in line with customer requirements and ITIL Best Practices.
  • Facilitating effective communication and coordination to all stakeholders of the Change Management Process for the successful implementation of changes and releases.
  • Escalating to the Change Manager as required and to the Service Lead, if needed. Compiling Business communications, as required.
  • Providing the Change Manager with pertinent information for Change reports on a regular basis.
  • Assisting Change Managers with arranging action groups, and training sessions.
  • Regularly coordinating with all change requestors and workflow task owners to ensure completeness and accuracy of information for each change order ticket.
  • Ensuring change information is complete for CAB members to review and where necessary approve the change.
  • Assisting the Change Manager in performing Post Implementation reviews for failed changes. Providing administrative support for Change Management meetings.
  • Coordinating retrospective Change documentation following Emergency Changes Produce daily reports.
  • Maintaining the Change/Release Calendar with updated change information.
  • Identifying risks discovered in or affecting the Change Management process and delivery of Change Management services to the client and escalate to the Change Manager or Service Lead.
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement to build a culture of service excellence.
  • Takes reasonable care that their actions (or inactions) do not harm the Health and Safety of self or others. Reports all incidents, hazards or unsafe work practices as per Datacom policy.

Requirements

Knowledge

  • Good understanding of Service Management practices.
  • Knowledge of Change Management principles.
  • Working knowledge in ITIL Methodologies.

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in IT, with experience in a business environment.

Skills

  • Ability to converse with both end-users and IT employees at all levels of the organisation.
  • Good understanding of all aspects of the systems/software development lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Certification

  • Certification in ITIL Methodologies.
