As Field Testing Engineer you will be responsible to prepare and execute performance test and vibration analysis acquiring data on the field at customer site on installed units in order to verify equipment performances and/or execute troubleshooting activities. Target equipment for testing operations will be gas turbines, steam turbines, centrifugal and axial compressors, turbo-expanders, gearboxes and generators;

As Field Testing Engineer you will be responsible for :

• Ensure the use of state of the art instrumentation and methodologies to carry out the job in the most productive and effective way, eventually identifying and introducing new technologies to be used in the field for both data collection and diagnostics;
• Prepare test instrumentation working at Florence Field Testing Laboratory ;
• Responsible for leading the site testing activities, being responsible for data collection, interfacing with customer and Florence HQ during the test execution;
• Responsible to prepare accurate testing reports by performing data analysis and diagnostics: identifying corrective/mitigation action (if needed), and listing specific recommendations;
• Work together with Product Service and Product Engineering to contribute to -RCA and product feedback;
• Support the developing of new testing and data acquisition systems for advanced diagnostics and prognostics, interfacing with other engineering groups.
• Responsible for execution of unit validation test, inspection and data acquisition for use in the validation of products and services. Evaluating running parameters and system problems troubleshooting.
• Responsible for drawing up accurate testing reports Acting as entry point for Engineering and Testing teams concerning technical issues and interfacing with all involved functions and suppliers.
• Support the team regarding reliability of Testing assets and to support on proactive way all BH customers (internal and external).

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will :

• Master’s Degree in Engineering;
• Good Thermodynamic and/or Rotordynamic knowledge (turbomachinery specific) supported by practical experience (laboratory and/or field);
• Good knowledge of data acquisition system and signal processing;
• Experience in programming with Labview;
• Passionate about technical work, detailed-oriented behaviour and strong motivation supported by technical curiosity, self-starting attitude;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, teamwork attitude, ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, able to deal with emergency situations and fast-paced work;
• Fluent English and Italian;
• Availability to travel 50% of the time all over the world with short notice;
• EU Work Permit.
