This role involves working with working with the Product Manager to understand the business problems we are solving for our clients and translate these into technical requirements that you will work with the development teams to solve.

Cybersource standardizes payment specifications across multiple acquiring banks, facilitating billions of payments annually. This role will require you to develop an in-depth understanding of these evolving payment specifications, and to simplify them into a common Cybersource standard payments API. You will develop relationships with technical counterparts at the acquirers we work with.

We develop products in an agile manner, and you will be responsible for generating feedback from stakeholders, communicating with the product development team, running backlog grooming sessions and attending stand-ups. You will champion the product and the product team to internal and external stakeholders.

Specifically, you will:

  • Help to define product requirements, including the articulation of clear, thorough and detailed user stories for complex features and product sets.
  • Collaborate with and inspire engineering teams to build secure, reliable and scalable payment processing platforms.
  • Guide engineering teams during acquiring bank accreditation and certification testing.
  • Work closely with development and QA organizations to ensure technical specifications and the final product meet business requirements.
  • Ensure product vision and requirements are designed with long-term vision in mind and can be launched globally with minimal tweaks.
  • Use data to understand the usage of features and use metrics to facilitate data driven decision making.
  • Generate feedback from stakeholders, run pilots with merchants and acquirer partners, focus on continuous improvement.
  • Champion the product and the product team to internal and external stakeholders.

​This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Relevant work experience and a bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong technical skills with experience implementing APIs.
  • Inquisitive self-starter with strong communication skills to engage, listen to, and inspire stakeholders.
  • Strong technical skills with a sound understanding of system architecture especially with high volume/high availability systems.
  • Experience leading product / delivery scrum teams.
  • Able to concentrate on the technical detail, but also articulate the bigger picture.
  • Experience implementing process improvements.
  • Prior knowledge of ecommerce, payments and/or high-volume high-availability systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of industry experience as a product manager within a technology environment, with a record of successfully delivering complex products and services
  • Hands-on software development experience with exposure to API design.
  • Business analysis experience mapping data between APIs.
  • Knowledge of payment standards such as UK Standard 70 and ISO-8583.
