Senior Accountant

Verafin is a cutting-edge software company focused on delivering next generation fraud and money laundering solutions to financial institutions across North America. Our rapid growth and continuing success means we have an opening for a Senior Accountant to join our team!

We are seeking a high energy and innovative Senior Accountant to join the Finance team. As part of the finance team, we are looking for an individual with an eye to detail and has a passion for all things reporting. You will work closely with members of the finance team to ensure we are providing timely and accurate information to support the business.

Role Responsibilities

• Assist Revenue Assurance Lead to ensure timely and accurate revenue data on a monthly basis

• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger

• Prepare account reconciliations

• Prepare working papers that support account balances and investigate any issues

• Assist with overall general ledger accuracy through monthly general ledger review

• Assist with preparation of monthly financials and other reports as required

• Analyze, investigate and report on monthly variances

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting or related field

• 3-5 years of experience in a financial environment applying analytical and problem-solving skills

• Experience in the financial or IT sector would be considered an asset

• High proficiency in utilizing Workday, OneStream, Excel, PowerPoint and PowerBI

• Ability to work with large sets of data to spot trends and anomalies, understand the details while being able to tell the big picture story.

• Work independently, with an attention to detail and ability to ensure quality and accuracy of output.

• Ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects and meet tight deadlines; remain calm under pressure and in the face of uncertainty.

• Must be proactive, resourceful, and demonstrate intellectual curiosity.

• Build strong working relationships
