Data science & Analytics

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Services team. We sit within the Data Intelligence Camp, where we own the data sharing platform and the tooling that teams use to publish and consume data and the reporting and analytics platform that is leveraged by data engineering, ML engineering and data scientists.

We're working on a brand new set of features to help HR leaders utilise data from across the Culture Amp platform to maximise and measure the impact they have on their organisations.

As part of this team of amazing humans,

You will

  • Work in an agile multidisciplinary team.
  • Own specific problems/designs and implement solutions for them.
  • Pair with other engineers whenever possible
  • Communicate directly with stakeholders when relevant to your current project
  • Follow and advocate for software engineering, data engineering and SRE best practices
  • Help onboard and up-skill more junior engineers
  • Receive mentoring and support from the practice and team leadership
  • Run experiments with new technologies such as Kafka streams or Apache Flink

You have

  • Experience with distributed systems in particular using and operating Kafka
  • Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code such as CDK or Terraform, ideally within AWS cloud
  • Experience running containerised applications at scale
  • Solid software development fundamentals, ideally with exposure to Go, Typescript or Kotlin and experience with SQL
  • Comfortable writing and supporting client libraries, SDKs and automation code.

You are

  • A driver of technical excellence in a team environment. Youโ€™re an expert in your domain and can develop the expertise and knowledge of those around you.
  • Someone who loves collaboration - our teams are cross functional and youโ€™ll be working with other engineers, team leads and product managers to deliver great outcomes.
  • Keenly interested in understanding and solving customer problems. You think about how your work impacts our customers and improves their experience.
  • A pragmatic engineer. Before jumping into solutions, you ask and understand what we're optimising for, and can comfortably balance long-term objectives with short-term tradeoffs.
  • Aligned with our values, check them out here: https://www.cultureamp.com/company#values and demonstrate them through your working practice.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, comfortable dealing with ambiguity when necessary. You take the initiative to ensure that you have everything you need to work effectively and ask for support when required.
  • Someone who enjoys learning, upskilling and growing as an engineer.
