Position Overview: As a Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will report directly to the Mechanical Department Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and supervise maintenance activities, leveraging mechanical contractors, and ensuring the optimal performance of their production equipment. You will play a critical role in project planning and execution, from initial conceptualization to completion, while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the execution of work orders, ensuring safety, quality, and timeliness of work
  • Effectively manage mechanical contractors to ensure cost-effective execution of mechanical works
  • Assign employees strategically to maximize equipment availability and efficiency
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance production capabilities
  • Participate in planning and executing new cement production projects
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resource requirements
  • Plan, organize, and schedule mechanical maintenance inspections and assessments
  • Stay updated on maintenance and production issues at the plant
  • Implement and monitor quality control measures throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and environmental regulations
  • Recommend improvements and develop execution plans
  • Control costs by presenting alternative solutions for daily tasks
  • Conduct periodic safety and informational meetings with employees
  • Lead and manage contractors to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards

Candidate Profile:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a Polytechnic School
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing, industrial, or construction setting
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices for machinery and plant equipment
  • Proactive, resourceful, and results-oriented
  • Excellent prioritization, multi-tasking, and deadline management skills
  • Strong leadership skills in managing contractors and ensuring high standards of safety and quality
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both internally and externally
  • Critical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Adaptable and quick to learn
  • Team player with solid interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Greek and English
  • Fulfilled military service (if applicable)
