Senior Test Engineer

Forcepoint is growing and needs a senior quality engineer to work as an embedded member of the endpoint software development team. In this role you will develop test strategies, execute end-to end customer driven test cases, building networks, developing test automation scripts, and working closely with a global development team to deliver a high quality product. This role will be heavy on the diagnostics and automation aspects of quality assurance. The successful candidate will have an engineering background and the ability to read code.

Essential Functions

• Develop test plans, test cases, and test automation for Forcepoint’s endpoint security agents
• Work directly with software engineers both locally and globally to ensure product quality objectives are achieved
• Collaborate across site boundaries to share test practices with low level and system test engineers
• Configures workstations, operating environments, and the system under test, as needed to complete assigned testing
• Possesses strong knowledge in software testing and debugging
• Setup and maintain test labs for various projects
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of experience in software testing or equivalent
• Strong background and experience in software testing methodology, test development, and test execution
• Understanding of software development methods, design, and implementation
• Working knowledge of one or more languages (PYTHON & JAVA) suitable for test automation development
• Experience with testing tools and methodologies including automation frameworks, large data, performance and scalability
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows products, Mac and Linux.
• Strong OSI layer knowledge to support triage on various layers and protocols
• Experience testing API’s and Web Services

Soft Skills

• Strong communication (written and oral) and teamwork behavior within a diverse team environment
• Self-motivated to research new skills and technologies (whether or not directly related to product)
• Commitment to the broader range of product development goals (teamwork at scale)

Preferred Skills and Background

• Experience with test automation and CI/CD
• Experience testing and debugging kernel and device driver software
• Experience with networking and/or communications protocols, especially TCP/IP
• Experience testing API’s and Web Services
• Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM centered organization
