Basic Function

The Senior Product Marketing Specialist for Wolters Kluwer Compliance Solutions is primarily responsible for leading the development of marketing strategies and plans required to build awareness and aggressively grow market share for the family of products within the Compliance Solutions business unit.

The Senior Product Marketing Specialist will support the Voice of Customer (VOC) for CS products and provide strategic marketing direction. They will lead the development of programs to generate leads and raise awareness and drive plans and programs for new product introductions (NPIs).

The Senior Product Marketing Specialist will work in concert with the product management team to analyze market conditions, the competitive landscape, customer needs and CS Solutions capabilities, and develop go-to-market plans that differentiate CS products from the competition while reinforcing customer value. They will also support the sales and client service teams through the creation of messaging, tools and sales support material, and will drive strategy and subject matter expertise for campaigns and communications to be delivered by the marketing communications team. The role will work closely with portfolio marketing, product management, strategic marketing communications and sales to deliver accelerated growth for CS products.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains an expert knowledge of the CS family of products, including value proposition, competitive position and features and benefits, and an expert knowledge of the target markets, including segment attributes, personas and customer needs.
  • Establishes overall positioning and creation of go-to-market strategy and plan for CS products to drive interest and adoption.
  • Ensures successful product launches by developing launch plans; collaborating with other marketing resources to execute on go-to-market promotions (e.g., digital and direct marketing, lead gen programs, collateral, website content, conference presentation/exhibition, press releases, analyst relations, thought leadership, etc.); serves as a SME in relation to the product’s value proposition and market position; assists with the training of sales teams on how to prospect and qualify target customers, demonstrate value and close sales; and assists sales leadership with establishing sales plans that will drive sales results consistent with the business plan.
  • Positions products for success throughout the product’s lifetime by keeping updated and articulating to the organization messaging and competitive positioning to be used in keeping up-to-date sales collateral, competitive analysis and training.
  • Remains current on trends and issues as they relate to the product offering as well as emerging technologies, standards, and market dynamics, shares insights and business implications with others in the organization.
  • Ensures program effectiveness by tracking and routinely analyzing KPIs and revising strategies as necessary for success.
  • Assists in identifying and executing go-to-market alliance and channel joint marketing strategies.
  • Collaborates across decentralized marketing team to ensure execution success across all marketing tactics.
  • Works closely with product management on roadmap, voice of customer and product promotion of the solution.
  • Project management of vendors and partners

Job Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or equivalent related work experience.
  • MBA preferred.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, with strong product marketing focus.
  • Candidates should possess a background in product marketing and/or product management, strategic marketing planning, and experience in executing all marketing tactics. This role calls for a strategic and independent thinker who is results focused.

  • Pragmatic Marketing certification preferred.
  • Results driven product marketing professional with the proven ability to deliver accelerated growth.
  • Demonstrated excellence in devising go-to-market strategies and executing end-to-end marketing plans.
  • Ability to create and articulate clear market positioning and compelling differentiation.
  • Proven experience managing creative process for direct marketing, collateral, etc.
  • Sense of urgency and focus; ability to deliver thoughtful, polished work sometimes under tight time constraints.
  • Flexible with ability to handle multiple projects independently and prioritize under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven strength in copy writing and messaging.
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills and the ability to foster cross-functional teamwork among sales, marketing, and engineering.
  • Market knowledge of finance industries and FinTech solutions preferred.
