The Biosensors Group are seeking experienced Product / Reliability Engineer to join the team in Limerick, Ireland. The group are developing a portfolio of Biosensing products that will enable a new business franchise for the Digital Healthcare Business Unit in Analog Devices. The biosensing products will target a range of applications including point of care diagnostics and therapeutics. The first product under development is a Multi-Ion Fluidics Sensor for blood.

The selected candidate will develop understanding of the product and the potential failure modes of the sensor system. They will drive the engagement with the Reliability & Quality groups, help to define the Reliability Test plan, Protocols, and Reliability Test Capability for the platform of Multi-Ion Fluidics Sensors. They will also support the testing of sensors and the analysis of data gathered through the Characterisation/Evaluation phase of the New Product Development process.

Roles & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:

  • Collaborate with the System Architects, Sensor Designers, Reliability & Manufacturing Engineers to drive:
    • The definition of a mission profile specification for the Multi-Ion Fluidics Sensors.
    • Identification and understanding of the failure modes and mechanisms.
    • Definition and implementation of failure/ageing models.
    • The definition the Reliability Plans.
    • The development of the Reliability Test Protocols & Procedures.
    • Assist the development of any Test Capability required for Reliability testing.
    • Analysis of the data and validation of the failure mode/ageing model.
  • Manage the implementation and delivery of the Reliability plans.
  • Analyse and report on Sensor performance vs mission profile from data generated during Reliability Testing.
  • Support the Sensor Design and Characterization teams with sensor testing & analysis of data gathered during Characterisation.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Biomedical, Physics, Chemistry or Electronics disciplines.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to work at a high level of performance both in a team environment and independently.
  • Evidence of team leadership skills and delivery on goals set.
  • Excellence in oral, written, presentation, collaboration, and inter-personal skills.
  • High levels of motivation and creativity, with an outgoing & positive attitude.
  • An inquisitive nature and willingness to tackle multiple disciplinary challenges.
  • Demonstrated experience of statistical data analysis using JMP or similar tools.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Software is required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Desired

  • Experience with electrochemical or other chemical/biosensors.
  • Experience with ISO 13485 quality standard for medical devices.
