Job Family Definition:

Directs, manages, leads, and coordinates the integration of existing and/or new Information Technology solutions according to requirements of one or more functions, businesses, geographies, and/or IT transformational activities. Areas of responsibility may include business and technical systems design, acquisition and/or development, implementation, and support; infrastructure design, acquisition, implementation, operation, and maintenance; client services support. Establishes functional business plans and technical project/program objectives to meet the short- and long-term goals and metrics of the organization, including internal/external partners required to utilize alternative resourcing plans. Understands, articulates, and optimizes application and process capabilities for use by multiple/all business and IT constituents; drives architectural standards and simplification. Ensures the design, development, delivery and supportability of services/solutions for businesses are in accordance with business and IT objectives.

Management Level Definition:

Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving common and complex business/technical issues within established policies. Manages exempt individual contributors and/or supervisors. Has accountability for results of a major program in terms of cost, direction and people management. Provides guidance on process improvements and recommends changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy for area of responsibility. Plans, manages and monitors operational/tactical activities of Staff. Staff members' work may involve strategic issues. Recruits and supports development of direct staff members. Typically reports to MG2 or Director.

Additional guidance/criteria: Manages and controls activities within a single country or a sub-region which is part of a larger geographical Region; Manages at least 4 employees and typically between 8 and 15 direct reports. Span of Control guidelines may differ from these numbers.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage HPE’s High Performance Computing and AI lab in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.

Recruit, hire, train and supervise the hardware support technicians and computer operations staff (9 employees).

Review work and ensure compliance with process and procedures.

Manage work assignments, monitor service response time and address issues that may arise.

Foster and maintain a collaborative relationship with lab tenants and key business partners, including R & D, IT, and Facilities/Global Workplace.

Collaborate with R&D engineers to understand future power, cooling, and lab support needs.

Optimize use of the lab facilities to support the business.

Implement best practices for lab management, including space planning, incident management, asset tracking, and change management.

Work with Facilities to maintain, monitor, and evaluate electrical and cooling systems. Work with Facilities to plan for future needs.

Monitor the troubleshooting and response by Facilities to after-hour issues regarding the operational aspects of the facility such as HVAC, electrical outages, water leaks, etc.

Create and administer disaster response plans that will keep the company functional in the event of a crisis.

Provide clear, timely and objective communication to management and stakeholders

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or information technology with 3+ years’ experience in a leadership role.

Excellent knowledge of computer hardware and networking systems (preferably with large scale clustered systems).

Knowledge of electrical and cooling systems, including liquid cooling, in large data center environments.

The expected salary/wage range for a U.S.-based hire filling this position is provided below. Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level. If this is a sales role, then the listed salary range reflects combined base salary and target-level sales compensation pay. If this is a non-sales role, then the listed salary range reflects base salary only. Variable incentives may also be offered. USD Annual Salary: $98,000.00 - $225,500.00
