Main Area of Responsibility summary:

The primary responsibility is Product Marketing for the Food Safety business in Korea. This role directly impacts the immediate work group/team by providing direction and advice to colleagues. The position involves various marketing activities related to brands, products, and channels. It includes defining and coordinating market/customer analysis, reporting findings to guide business decisions, implementing marketing tactics related to product, channel, pricing, and promotions, and executing efforts identified in the marketing plan. The role also leads projects and initiatives to ensure overall growth and branding strategy, typically involving activities of moderate scope and complexity and developing solutions in product information operations, digital asset management, website, or channel operations to improve sales productivity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned based on experience)

  • Responsible for various marketing activities for a brand, product, and/or channel, providing input to management that may influence financial resource allocation.
  • Leads or coaches colleagues during projects, trains new employees, and leads change within functional disciplines such as market research, channel/product marketing, digital, business/market development, branding, pricing, new product introduction, standard pricing and maintenance, deviated pricing, bids and quotes, business agreements, merchandising, price optimization and analytics, CRM processes, including sales processes and sales operations analytics, customer insights, etc.
  • Begins to determine priorities, assign responsibilities, or implement timetables for work groups or teams to ensure success and may provide feedback on team members' performance.
  • Initiates actions to lead projects, linking project steps to business strategies. Projects are usually short-term with specific results expected, occasionally with broadly defined results. Ensures project objectives and deadlines are met. Presents project plans, progress, and results to regional/country marketing managers to support business needs and goals.
  • Handles non-routine and difficult inquiries, adapting different techniques and methods to develop solutions for various complex issues. Applies analytical skills for trend analysis or data interpretation generated by company reporting systems, statistical results, or other information collection systems.
  • Creates, writes, and edits persuasive marketing materials, including newsletters, web content, press releases, and white papers.
  • Works closely with the sales and technical service team, operation team, finance team, and business development to ensure all stakeholder views are represented and initiatives are fully aligned.
  • Actively contributes to the development of marketing plans for assigned market/product areas, including data collection, verification, analysis, and program recommendations.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of marketing research projects utilizing advanced quantitative and qualitative methods. Determines appropriate methodologies to obtain the required information, associated costs, timing, and other factors relevant to project completion. Identifies and recommends market segments and target customers based on a mix of data and insights.
  • Collaborates with the commercial team on NPI processes as required to plan and execute successful product launches.
  • Monitors and seeks out new tools, media channels, and partners to promote products and reach target markets.
  • Uses data to accurately analyze market coverage and track channel performance. Coordinates the implementation and tracking of channel-specific programs or promotions.
  • Compiles/reviews marketing reports and data to identify trends and actionable conclusions for ongoing improvement of ROI and key metrics.

  • Ability to research, gather, and synthesize technical/scientific background information to produce well-rounded content appropriate to the publication/communication channel and its audience.
  • Good understanding of core and digital marketing principles.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex scientific information into clear, easy-to-communicate stories and messages.
  • A sound appreciation of content marketing and what makes it effective.
  • Excellent organization and project management skills.
  • Deadline-driven, well-organized, focused, self-disciplined, and pragmatic, with the ability to prioritize workload and recognize when detail really matters.
  • Commercially astute with an entrepreneurial mindset.

  • Close alignment and partnership with sales teams to deliver programs.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum Qualification: bachelorโ€™s degree
  • A further postgraduate qualification in Business, Sales, or Marketing or relevant experience would be an advantage.
  • 5+ years of marketing experience
  • Working experience in diagnostic/analytical/microbiological products and services preferable.
  • B2B and B2C marketing experience preferable.
  • Experience in marketing hardware with consumables.
  • Mathematical & Computer Skills:
  • Good mental arithmetic and a good level of numeracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Very proficient in Word and PowerPoint.
  • Competent in Excel.
